On their three previous albums these two New York brothers offered a tick-list of influences from Harry Nilsson, Todd Rundgren, The Beach Boys, power pop and so on. Yes, some of that is here too but with dramatic ballads (the spirits of Robin Gibb and McCartney on What Happens to a Heart), fragile folk-pop and some baroque-pop touches, this is where you won’t be listening for boxes ticked but seduced by the very clever Lemon Twigs themselves.
