Van Morrison: Remembering Now (2025)
Against all expectation the grumpiest man in music – who holds grudges for many decades – sounds like he’s found love and a sense of peace in his late 70s. And if the lyrics sometimes seem just a little trite (Back to Writing Love Songs) there a sense of joy, swing and a spring in his step. Needless to say he looks back (Memories and Visions) but now he seems to see the beauty and not the bastards who ripped him off. Surprise album of the year? Probably.
