The White Stripes: Get Behind Me Satan (2005)
Although not the White Stripes album many would immediately grab, this mix-up of styles recorded rapidly in two weeks rewards discovering for its darkness (The Nurse), reductive pop (My Doorbell), bluegrass strangeness (Little Ghost) and ballads (White Moon). And that’s just side one. We’ll leave it over to you to discover the references to actress Rita Hayworth. An unusual White Stripes album but worth checking out.
