Robert Forster: Strawberries (2025)
There are always those special albums which go straight past most people and this delightful offering by 67-year old Forster, one of the key writers in Australia’s Go-Betweens, is one of those. Beautiful, sardonic songs about life, love and “you can’t erase older days til better ones arrive”. Foolish I Know is about a gay man yearning for his straight friend (“I like him but there’s just one catch”) and Breakfast on the Train is an engrossing acoustic story worthy of Dylan. Discover this one. It’s adult.
