Lucy Dacus: Forever Is a Feeling (2025)
Dacus – who also moonlights with boygenius alongside Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers – here offers tasteful, thoughtful and slightly provocative alt.rock (with strings) and also gets away some extraordinary ballads (Limerance). There’s melancholy, sensuality, weariness after being worn down in a relationship and influences from drone pop to orchestrated movie themes from the 1940s. Yet it remains mostly understated and is like an almanac of emotions.
