Devilskin: Be Like the River (2016)
This second studio album by Hamilton’s formidable metal band fell between their debut We Rise and 2020’s Red, and went straight to number one on the charts, just like We Rise. They were certainly doing something right and here’s the evidence: disciplined playing, Jennie Skulander’s astonishingly powerful vocals (strap yourself in for Pray) and exceptional songs with real emotional heft (Mountains, Voices). It won Best Rock Album at the annual music awards. So quite a number of reasons for this to be in your collection.
