Phoebe Rings: Aseurai (2025)
Fronted by Korean-Kiwi jazz school graduate Crystal Choi and bringing subtle elements of European pop, disco, wine-bar elegance, yacht-rock and quiet Korean pop, this album insinuates itself and after a couple of plays you wonder how they managed to distill so many elements – add in smooth jazz and bossa nova – into their songs which can also deal with some serious stuff. A real slow grower.
