Annahstasia: Tether (2025)
Located somewhere between acoustic Joan Armatrading, soulful Nick Drake, nicotine-cured Billie Holiday and a bohemian folk club, the voice of this Californian’s debut is sometimes little more than a whisper, at other times a collar-grabbing quiver of emotions. One of those album which has record store owners wonder whether to put it under folk, pop, soul, blues or jazz. File under “A” for arresting.
