The Verlaines: Live at the Windsor Castle 1986 (1986)
Finally released in 2024, this remastered double album captured the early Verlaines at their peak with great and sometimes difficult songs in their pocket and singer/writer Graeme Downes driven by a manic energy which sold even the most obscure lyrics. So great that this doesn’t even have Death and the Maiden, that’s how confident this is and they were. One of the great and essential Kiwi live albums.
