The Finn Brothers: Finn (1995)
A quiet showcase of Neil and Tim’s collective musicianship, Finn bore little relation to anything either was working on at the time. There’s an ease about songs which don’t strain to produce archetypal Neil melodies or have the anxiety which often infected Tim’s work. Finn was an album freed of any commercial pressures and sounded the better for it. And the 2022 vinyl issue expanded it to an impressive double set with demos of songs which appeared on the Crowdies Woodface and Together Alone. Classy.
