The Cult: Dreamtime (1984)
Heroic, chest-baring debut album which is steeped in Native American references and mythology, wide-screen guitars and proto-goth resonance. It announced a band that wasn’t going to deliver anything in half measures. This aimed high and wide, and mostly achieved what it wanted: attention. Bono and the Edge were put on notice.
Next: Saxon, Hellfire and Damnation; The Cult, Electric and Sonic Temple
