Ocean Colour Scene: Moseley Shoals (1996)
The best album by one of Britpop’s finest bands who gave Oasis and Blur a run for their money on the UK charts (and outstripped Oasis in the songwriting stakes) but never quite made a similar mark in this country. Guitarist Steve Cradock was so good Paul Weller borrowed him for his band, and singer Simon Fowler invited comparisons with Steve Winwood and Stevie Marriott. Great band here captured at their energetic early best.
