Mj Lenderman: Manning Fireworks (2024)
Outside of North Carolina’s alt.country-cum-rock band Wednesday, 25-year old singer/guitarist Lenderman plays idiosyncratic slacker-folk with pedal steel, fiddle and slide guitar. His croaky vocals and lyrics can be downbeat, observational Americana gone bonkers. Lenderman is quite the guitar hero in that ragged lineage from Neil Young to The War on Drugs. Think Crazy Horse with a drunk Dylan and Warren Zevon contributing lyrics. Check him out.
