Jesse Ware: Devotion (2009)
At the time this debut by the British pop chanteuse was hailed as masterpiece of sympathetic production which placed her voice in sophisticated settings which can sound like a warm bathe in New Age/ambient waters. Ware’s strong voice is tastefully restrained on material which pulls back from heroic dancefloor pop to bring out a more soulful side. A discovery even now.
