Alderson Homemade Smash Burgers
Ingredients:
• 4 brioche Buns
• 500g Woolworths NZ Beef Mince Grass Fed 18% Fat
• 8 Dairyworks Cheese Slices (Your preference of Cheddar, Tasty, Edam or Gouda)
• 1 Tbsp Golden Sun Sour Sweet Gluten Free Gherkins Chopped + Topping
• 4 sliced Golden Sun Sour Sweet Gluten Free Gherkins
• 1 Tbsp Pickle Brine
• Lettuce
• Red Onion, Sliced
• 1 Slices Tbsp French’s Classic Yellow Mustard + Topping
• 1/3 cup Mayonnaise
• 1 Tbsp Tomato Sauce + Topping
• Salt & Pepper
Method:
1. Preheat the bbq flat plate to a high heat. Alternatively, if you're using a stove top, you can use a cast iron pan.
2. Divide the mince into quarters, then using your hands, roll into four even meatballs.
3. Into a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, 1 Tbsp mustard, 1 Tbsp Tomato sauce, 1 Tbsp chopped pickles and 1 Tbsp of pickle brine, mixing well to combine. Set aside.
4. Cut the buns in half then place on to the hot bbq or pan, toasting until nice and golden. Remove the buns from the pan, and add the meatballs. Using a large spatula or burger smasher, push down hard over the meat balls to flatten. Season well with salt and pepper.
(*note* Depending on your size of pan you may need to do this one at a time.)
5. After a couple of minutes, ease the patties off the flat plate or pan and flip. Top with two slice of cheese and cook for a further minute.
6. While the burgers are finishing off, add a spoonful of burger sauce to the bottom bun followed by the lettuce, then mustard & Tomato sauce to the top lid. Once the Pattie’s have finished cooking, remove and slide over the lettuce. Top with the red onion and sliced pickles, then crown with the top lid and enjoy.
