Dave Dobbyn: Available Light (2005)
By the time this album appeared Dobbyn had half a dozen solo albums and hits behind him, and was well-established as a senior statesman in New Zealand music. He’d been awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit. The knighthood would follow. This is the album which sprung his seminal Welcome Home delivered at a time when small but vocal sections were demanding the end of immigration. Again, Dobbyn seized the moment and gave us an anthem to be proud of.
