Mother Love Bone: Apple (1990)

To this day some would argue that Mother Love Bone could have been the great hard rock grunge band, but because singer Andrew Wood ODed just before this sole album was released we are left wondering (and pondering “don’t you die on me” in the opening track This is Shangrila). Still, bassist Jeff Ament and guitarist/chief songwriter Stone Gossard went on to found Pearl Jam so... But here is lost promise because this is impressive, even now.
