Crowded House: Crowded House (1986)
The end of the Enz allowed Neil Finn the opportunity to reset his songwriting and career as the mainman of this remarkable and much loved local group (local if you lived in Australia as well as New Zealand). And what a debut of pop, ballads, rock and reflection this was: Now We’re Getting Somewhere, Something So Strong, World Where You Live and the timeless Don’t Dream It’s Over. And there’s the beautiful, disturbing and personal Hole in the River.
Next: Crowded House, Dreamers are Waiting; Neil Finn, Dizzy Heights and Out of Silence
