The Seeds: Raw and Alive; the Seeds in Concert at Merlin’s Music Box (1968)
Not quite live because the Seeds weren’t in front of the screaming crowd you hear (that was recorded at a Beach Boys concert). But no matter because this is thrilling garageband rock’n’roll with nods to the Doors, psychedelic rock, dirty R’n’B and violent pop. The 2025 vinyl edition is a double: the original album (with screaming) and the scrapped version which had the band playing the same set in a studio. Both are exciting. Great package with a book of photos and an essay explaining it all.
