Create delicious homemade sushi with Japanese ingredients from Mama San and S&B. Ready in just 25 minutes, these salmon and avocado rolls are perfect for a quick meal or sharing with friends and family!

Ingredients:
• Mama San Sushi Rice - 2 cups uncooked rice (approx. 400g)
• Mama San Sushi Vinegar - 80ml (i.e. 40ml per cup of uncooked rice)
• Mama San Sushi Seaweed - 1 sheet
• S&B Wasabi Paste - 1 tsp
• Mama San Table Soy Sauce – a small amount for dipping
• Sushi mat
• Fillings: Salmon (sliced) and avocado (sliced)

Instructions:
1- Prepare the Rice:
• Put 2 cups of mama san Sushi Rice into a pot. Cover the rice with water, wash and then drain 3 times.
• Add 2 cups of water to the drained rice and let stand for 30 mins.
• Cover the pot and bring to a boil over high heat.
• Once it boils, reduce to low heat and simmer, covered, for 20 mins.
• Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 15 mins.
• Put rice onto a non-metallic tray and sprinkle with 80ml of mama san Sushi Vinegar.
• Stir with a gentle chopping motion using a non-metallic spoon.
• Allow the rice to cool before making sushi.

2- Assemble the Sushi:
• Place a mama san Sushi Seaweed sheet shiny side down on the sushi mat.
• Spread a thin layer of prepared rice evenly over the seaweed, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.
• Place thin slices of salmon and avocado in a line across the centre of the rice.

3- Roll the Sushi:
• Lift the mat’s edge closest to you and roll it over the fillings, tucking them in tightly.
• Continue rolling, using the mat to shape the roll, and moisten the top border with water to seal.

4- Slice and Serve:
• Use a sharp knife to cut the roll into 6-8 pieces (wet the knife if the rice starts sticking to it).
• Serve with a small amount of S&B Wasabi Paste and a side of mama san Table Soy Sauce for dipping.

Enjoy your homemade sushi!
