Tom Verlaine: Songs and Other Things (2006)

At the time of his death in 2023, the great guitarist Tom Verlaine – who reshaped the possibilities of rock with Television’s debut and released excellent solo albums – had disappeared off the radar for most. He was still hailed but after Warm and Cool (1992) he didn’t release anything until this typically unusual but exciting album under a modest title. And after Around the same year, that was it. Time to rediscover late period Verlaine.
