Martina Topley-Bird: Quixotic (2003)

A fellow traveller through trip-hop and a different kind of hip-hop with Tricky, Topley-Bird stepped out with this Mercury-nominated debut which is mostly slippery, soulful, jazz-influenced trip-hop with Tricky contributing his dark menace to the snappy, moody Ragga. The memorable Need One has Josh Homme on guitar and Mark Lanegan on vocals. A surprisingly coherent album given the diversity of approaches. Expanded double vinyl includes additional songs and alternate mixes.
