Paul McCartney and Wings: One Hand Clapping (1974)

With the success and vindication of Band on the Run after a couple of solo career false starts, McCartney was in a buoyant mood: he had a bunch of new originals, a band to steer and confidence. He went into the studio and recorded this double album live, dipping back to old favourites (Blue Moon of Kentucky), some of his Beatles classics (Let It Be and Long And Winding Road getting quick dismissals) and ripped through a brace of Wings rockers. And ballads like My Love of course. Thoroughly enjoyable pop-rock from the master craftsman, only released 50 years later.

Next: Paul McCartney and Wings, Band on the Run and Band on the Run (Underdubbed Mixes); Paul McCartney, Amoeba Gig (Live)
