The Who: Quadrophenia (1973)
Pete Townshend’s even more thematically ambitious follow-up to the enormously successful Tommy sketched in the life of a young Mod (and Who fan) looking for his place in the world in the mid 1960s. It didn’t spring the chart hits of Tommy but is a stronger, more musically coherent album which tapped into a universal teenage angst. Like the original Tommy, a beautifully presented double album also.
